Waiting Game
Don't forget you can get your hands on some original C&C art by bidding online in the Team Cul de Sac auction, raising funds for Parkinson's research. The current bid is $42.00 (a snip compared to the 1.3m euros recently paid for an original Tintin cover!). The auction ends on June 10th.

Team Cul De Sac Special
Team Cul de Sac (TCDS) is a fundraising effort in honour of Richard Thompson, the cartoonist behind the brilliant Cul de Sac comic strip, who was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. With Richard's support, TCDS invited cartoonists to draw his characters for a book to raise money for The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) to further its mission to accelerate the delivery of life-changing treatments, and ultimately a cure, to people with Parkinson's. Chalk & Cheese Meet Mr. Danders is what I came up with.
I love Mr. Danders, the Blisshaven Preschool guinea pig from Cul de Sac. Richard Thompson has described him as a 'pompous little thing... I've found the key to his character is that nobody calls him anything but "the guinea pig", nobody calls him "Mr. Danders" except for him. It must drive him crazy.' I think I've managed to portray something of that in my comic.
You can read a bit more about Mr. Danders (and see how he's really drawn) here.
All the original art submitted to the project is currently being auctioned off through Heritage Auctions on-line, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the MJFF. So, if you fancy getting your hands on an original piece of C&C artwork whilst supporting a great cause, then please follow this link: http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=510&lotIdNo=11116
Please note - THE AUCTION ENDS JUNE 10th!
You can also support the project by purchasing the book Team Cul De Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson’s (Andrews McMeel Publishing) which publishes next week and includes this piece of mine alongside the work of cartoonists such as Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes), Jim Davis (Garfield) and Patrick McDonnell (Mutts). If you live in the US, you can purchase it directly from the editor, Chris Sparks:
