Here Yeti, Yeti, Yetis.....
This week's strip was inspired by the following conversation at breakfast with my son, which I scribbled down in my notebook.
That sparked off this idea:
which became today's comic, and tied in a couple of recurring C&C themes nicely - yetis and squirrels!

Team Cul de Sac nominated for an Eisner award!!!!!!!!!!
Last year I had the immense honour of having Chalk & Cheese included in the Team Cul De Sac book, a fundraising effort in aid of Parkinson's research. My strip was selected to go in the book alongside many notable cartoonists, including the creator of Calvin and Hobbes, Bill Watterson, whom I shared a spread with (I was so pleased my surname began with a W...!).
The project was conceived by a guy called called Chris Sparks, after Richard Thompson, the creator of the wonderful Cul De Sac strip, was diagnosed with the disease. To date Team Cul De Sac has raised over $110,000.00, and the book has just
been nominated for an Eisner Award!
You can read more in this article on the Team Cul De Sac site: Team Cul De Sac nominated for an Eisner award!!
You can buy a copy of the book here: Amazon UK
And here: Amazon US
And finally, here's my contribution from the book: Chalk & Cheese meets Mr. Danders.

Cousins (rpt.)
Below you'll see the original sketch for this strip, with a note that says, ASK Noah. He's the original inspiration for the character of Cheese Mouse, and it was his throw away remark at the zoo that started the whole okapi thing.
He also acts as my editor. I rarely run a strip without checking it out with him first, as he too delights in comics and always knows where to drop a panel or add a punchline. He's a harsh critic, but it's worth it when one makes him laugh aloud. Mind you, it's a killer when he looks at me with pity, and I know he's thinking, 'That's really not funny...'
And then he says it to my face.
Anyway, I haven't had time to do a new C&C this week, what with working on my picture book, having a kid off school with scarlet fever, website updates, and then the Easter weekend when we saw a multitude of cousins (some of which are still quite stumpy) - so I thought this was quite appropriate.

Dazed and Confused
This post's title is taken from a Led Zeppelin track, which is what Cheese Mouse is often listening to. If you like this, check out these earlier strips - Communication Breakdown and Headphones.
Apologies to subscribers by email - I think I forgot to tell you that I was dropping my C&C posts to once a week on a Tuesday. Sorry for any confusion!
