I had a strange dilemma writing this particular strip - should I use British or American spelling? The original picture book was only published in the US, so it wasn't an issue. Here I opted for the British (since I am). I discussed it later with Jane, who suggested in future I spell Cheese's words in the British idiom, and Chalk's in the American. What a great solution!
